Seth Rogen Still Can't Figure Out What the Hell Donnie Darko is About

And he is not afraid to tell this Jake Gyllenhaal character all about it.

Well, chums, it's a milestone day in the life of your brilliant author, who has an announcement to make:  She's sold out.

After five years, over 1500 posts across eight blogs, and somewhere in the region of 3 million page views, she has finally...decided to accept monetary compensation for this blogging thing.  Truth be told, she feels a little weird about it but her unemployment benefits run out this week and what's a layabout with no direction in life to do?

ISJ and my other blog will remain unaffected, but I do want to pimp out the new site to you because it's actually quite exciting!  In about a month, a site called How's the Living will be launched; it'll be a place for college students to rank and discuss dorms and campus housing options.  The intrepid entrepreneurs who are launching it got their start-up money by winning an MTV contest and in the midst of all the crazy promotion before the site launches, they want a fun blog (for hype) and who does "fun blog" like me, RIGHT?

I suggest you check it out because a) it's me, what more could you want; b) you could actually win things as the month progresses and that's always a good time; and c) the site itself is probably going to be huge and it will give you the illusion of coolness if you can say later in life that you knew about it before it even launched.  You're welcome in advance.

Now back to your regularly scheduled weird pictures of Jake:

Sasha,  April 18, 2011 at 11:17 AM

coool :) what a great Idea - been there, liking it BUT can't contribute since I live on the other side of the pond - still - to my greatest disappointment -.-"

And thanks Jake for regularly posing for PG to get her shot ;D

Linna,  April 18, 2011 at 11:28 AM

Wow, sounds awesome!! :-)

Good for you, my friend, I'll def. check it out just for your writing (wish I could use it services, but I think my college days might be over ;-) )

Linna,  April 18, 2011 at 11:31 AM

Haha, totally unrelated - my daughter sat in my lap while I wrote the other comment, and she said "I wanna look at the picture with the two people looking for their little, little cat" meaning the second picture in the post.

I know she's my daughter and all, but WTF?! where did that come from?!

Sasha,  April 18, 2011 at 12:59 PM

Where is there a cat??? O.O

Becky Heineke April 18, 2011 at 2:29 PM

HAHAHAA!! I cannot stop laughing about the cat thing!! :D Total win!

Thanks, you guys! (And yes, thank you, Jake, for both the excellent source material AND all those years of practice.) I'll leave a comment here tomorrow to let you know when the next post has gone up because it's a contest about horror stories from college living and any and all submissions are welcome. And it'll all be international soon enough! There's even going to be a "study abroad" section for international housing.

(God, listen to me. One day and I've turned into a salesperson.)

Sasha,  April 18, 2011 at 2:42 PM

awww I feel outcast ... what is it with the cat??? O.O c'mon girl don't let my die that stupid

Becky Heineke April 18, 2011 at 2:50 PM

Oh, sorry! There is no cat, Sasha! Linna was just saying that her daughter had a very creative interpretation of that picture. She looked at it and (for whatever reason!) thought it was a picture of two guys looking for a cat! :D

Anonymous,  April 18, 2011 at 2:53 PM

oh ... erm thanx for educating me PG, did I mention I'm blonde??? 0.o

sometimes I can be so stupid -.-"

Anonymous,  April 18, 2011 at 2:54 PM

argh, why did it only publish half my comment???

I also said: now I understand why you were laughing at the cat-comment. It is dead-pan-funny :D

Linna,  April 18, 2011 at 3:09 PM

Oh, sorry! No, there is no cat. I have NO idea where she got that. She is very creative about her interpretations, sure enough. But a cat?! Just like that? Well, she also wanted me to buy her a younger brother the other day...

(she's two and a half in case you're wondering)

Sorry, didn't mean to make you feel like an outcast!

Anonymous,  April 18, 2011 at 3:22 PM

omg Linna, I'm in tears laughing "mommy buy me a brother prtypls" O.O

oh I know you didn't mean to ... but thx for comforting me now :) I was lost in translation I suppose.

Sam April 18, 2011 at 5:37 PM

So.. I saw Donnie darko for probably the 6th or 7th time the other day and noticed Seth Rogan was actually in it. Is this common knowledge that I just managed to never seep into my brain?!

I have no idea what's going on with ur new adventure as we don't do that stuff here... But of course I'll check it out! ;)

Linna,  April 19, 2011 at 4:28 AM

Glad she could entertain :-) She really is quite funny, her logic is sensational. I've never laughed so much as I have since she started talking.

@Sam: I really hope it's not common knowledge, I've never noticed!! Ever. Granted, I'm not very perceptive, especially when watching DD; my focus is usually swayed towards the main charachter ;)

Sam April 19, 2011 at 8:27 AM

I know me too ;) but for some reason he just popped out this time! Plus Seth is pretty bald and I'm not used to seeing him with minimum hair!

Becky Heineke April 19, 2011 at 9:36 AM

I used to be obsessed with the TV show Freaks and Geeks and Seth was in that, so I knew who he was when he was in Donnie Darko. But if you didn't know who he was already, I don't think there'd be any way you'd realize it was him. They were all so young back then!! And his part is tiny.

Completely changing subjects, in case you haven't already been spammed by me on Facebook, the new entry is up on the blog now. Please spread it around to anyone you think might be interested! And thank you for being patient with me while I attempt to make a living. :)

Anyone any good idea where Jake might be beginning of may??? there is a chance I'll be crossing the pond to NYC :)

and totally unrelated:
awwwww .... Sam unfollowed me on twitter ... I feel sad :´(

coffeecat April 20, 2011 at 3:00 PM

Yes but the nerd with his name tag on his side and holding the two fingers out, it could mean "the two of us" or a sideways "peace, man" sign, but then across the pond it has a very naughty interpretation indeed! I think this photo could either be "what's wrong with this picture?" or "caption this!" It's just that weird.

Sam April 20, 2011 at 11:03 PM

Sasha omg!!!!!!!

I did a clean out the other day and unfollowed the ppl
I thought I didn't know!!!!!! what's your name on there??!!

I am so sorry I feel TERRIBLE!!!

Sasha,  April 21, 2011 at 2:31 AM

@sam don't feel terrible, we never talked much on twitter, so these things happen - but still I was a little sad.

And you found me already :) Welcome back to my twitterverse :D

Becky Heineke April 21, 2011 at 8:50 AM

Crisis averted! :)

As for Jake's whereabouts, I'd say it's about 50/50 that he'll be in NYC. But, like when Sam was there, if you'd like us to update you with any information as it comes while you're there, Sasha, just say the word!

And as a general announcement, if you're reading this and you're bored, it would really help me if you left a comment on this post. THANK YOU. :)

Sasha,  April 21, 2011 at 12:21 PM

:) yep PG, it is averted :)

erm, as to my NYC trip: I will ask nicely and say the word (hopefully we both speak of the same LOL)

BUT it's not sure yet. It depends if I'm send me or my colleague.

AND for the campus thing: DONE :)

Becky Heineke April 21, 2011 at 1:04 PM

And just let us know what happens with your trip. Rest assured, if you wind up going, we'll have your back for stalking opportunities. ;)

Sasha,  April 21, 2011 at 2:07 PM

PG, you are always welcome - if I can be of help I'll be :)

Thank you so much - I'll let you know :)

I have been surfing online greater than 3 hours these days,
yet I by no means discovered any attention-grabbing article like yours.
It is pretty price sufficient for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers made just right content as
you probably did, the web will be a lot more helpful than ever before.
