Clearly I Have Done a HORRIBLE Job of Branding Myself

I've known this for, oh, forever, but was feeling maybe a little embarrassed at so blatantly touting that I had something to sell.

Recently, however, I have decided to get over this.

Posts will continue as usual, but considering the disturbingly high volume of e-mail from new readers in the past six months who seem both oblivious to the fact that there even is a book (which baffles me considering in the past you had to scroll past the Amazon ads for it to even get to my e-mail address) and confused about the fact that the whole "stalker" thing is ironic (come on! I don't even post Twitter sightings of the guy!), I thought it best to do a minor reboot.

So here we are, with a new design that will hopefully make it harder to ignore that I desperately need your money.

And remember:  You are not a real Jake fan until you've read the book I'm Stalking Jake! by Becky Heineke.

Thank you and have a nice day. :)

Is the blue girl dancing around, you celebrating all your royalty checks because of your awesome new banner?? ;]

Getting an actual picture of Jake actually holding and/or reading this book is now my personal mission in life. The Gods have spoken to me and they have bestowed this mission upon me. As it was written, so it shall be done.

Go ahead PG, do what you want to this blog. You know i'll still read it, always. ;)

Thank you, Sam!! :)

And Mo, you know how I know you're going to be successful? Because getting a picture of Jake holding my book cannot *possibly* be that much harder than me coming up with an illustration of him doing that very thing. My life would be a hell of a lot easier if I possessed even a modicum of ability to draw people. Trying to do it with a mouse has, time and again, almost proven my downfall...

(Also, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the promotional team behind A Hard Day's Night for unknowingly letting me rip them off. ;) Poster and ticket-purchase giveaway.)

Thank you, you guys. :)

KD, we've missed you!! Actually, the comments on this post makes me feel like it's old home week. The gang is (sort of) back together again!

Are you saying you did that "Drawing" or should we call it "mousing" of Jake from scratch? I have always wondered where you get those little pics from but i figured it was like some program that made a picture to look like a drawing..

Holy shit Becky, if thats the case thats friggan incredible! KUDOS!!

Becky Heineke June 17, 2011 at 7:28 AM

Ha! Thank you!!! I'm really proud of the final result. :) Yes, I actually draw them with a mouse, although I use a picture underneath as a rough guide (and in this case, I already had the head done, so that was a HUGE time-saver). With this one, I found a picture of someone holding a book, but the guy was heavier than Jake is and wearing a collared shirt, so after I got the outline done, I had to alter it to make it look like it was Jake's body and about halfway through and wondered why the hell I was doing this to myself!! But yeah, just the body and book is made up of about 200 or so individual shapes that I drew one-by-one... (I'm insane.)

How do we get you discovered?!? For real, I know that Jake stalkers are good to have as fans...but we need the masses to learn about you!

Becky Heineke June 17, 2011 at 7:17 PM

This is my eternal dilemma!! Skilled at many things (such as utilizing a non-existent knowledge of Adobe Illustrator to make Jake read my book), I'm the worst self-promoter ever. :-/ I'm working on it... :)

ATD June 19, 2011 at 1:32 AM

What is this book everyone keeps mentioning :-P

Like the new design, it's.... cleaner

Becky Heineke June 19, 2011 at 11:51 AM

^^^ Thank you! :) The previous design was thrown up as I was (sorry to say) leaving town on my way to a funeral. And it showed...

And I'm telling you, you're missing out with this book. :D (There's ONE LEFT right now in the UK!)

ATD June 19, 2011 at 1:57 PM

One left in the WHOLE of the UK you say... not anymore there ain't :D

Becky Heineke June 19, 2011 at 9:51 PM

I'm not just saying this, I am SO EXCITED for you to read it!!!! I really think it'll bring back some crazy, crazy memories... :D

(And THANK YOU *so much* for buying one. :))
