Updates Elsewhere in the ISJ Universe...

If you have not checked out our Vigilante Facebook page in the past few days, then you should go see how much Love & Other Drugs goodness has gone up there and then you'll never make that mistake again.  It is now essentially (and by "essentially" I mean "definitely") Facebook's most comprehensive repository of digital memorabilia related to this prescription-themed motion picture.

(And update your bookmarks, because we're now at www.facebook.com/loveandotherdrugs.)

(Yes, I really did snag that URL out from under Fox.  Suck it, "people who professionally promote movies.")

Soon to be included amongst the updates on Facebook is the content-appropriate clip below from last fall.  Watch as Jake cracks a Birth of a Nation joke, because the world in which he lives is one where everyone cares about cinematic history.  (Note to Jake:  This was Jimmy Kimmel; sometimes you gotta suck it up and dumb it down for the audience.  Oh, wait.  You reference knowledge procured on Wikipedia later on?  Okay, you're fine):

This clip is hosted on our YouTube channel, which you probably didn't check either.  IT'S FINE.  Someday I will stop crying over all of you forgetting about the thousands of places online you have to check for ISJ updates.  Just because you "have lives" and can't always "check everything" is totally cool.  (Thus this blog entry.  Also, those last two sentences are such crap because even I can't remember all these damn places.  We're going to have a talk about that later in the week...)

ALSO TODAY, if you are a person who is able to be in New York City on October 2, you might want to spend $35 and see some dude named Jake Gyllenhaal talk about what it's like to be Jake Gyllenhaal.  (Hint:  It's pretty awesome, because entire online empires are built in his name.)

Haha, I love this little video clip of Jake talking about the merkin & possibly having or not having crabs!!! He is too funny. I can not wait to see this movie!

& yeah, what Sophie said. Loving the new LAOD vigilante FB page, PG! We need to get everyone we know & don't know to "like" it to show Fox they are SO lame. Come on, you guys, let's hit up the masses & win this FB showdown with Fox! I bet we can do it, I really do. I just saw today that their official FB pg still has only 427 "likes" after going live over a month ago. Seriously? Of course it doesn't help that their official website is even more lame than the FB page. They still haven't even put up the poster or anything else other than the 1st trailer. Go here & "LIKE" it asap & tell all your friends too! > ISJ Vigilante LAOD FB

Can't be arsed to sign in, I'm not at home right now. See! Even when I'm visiting relatives I still check for ISJ updates because I am just that cool. I'm kind of annoyed I can't watch that interview right now because I'm in a room with my parents and don't need them asking questions such as "what are you watching" "why do you love Jake so much" "why is he talking about crabs?"
I take it he does talk about crabs. Or merkins. Or both. Either way I'm not risking it :P

LMFAO, C&C! That just cracked me up & yes he mentions all of that. He is such a lovable goof... >;-)

On another note, anyone out there that can possibly make that event on Oct 2nd in NYC??? If I were independently wealthy, I would be there in a heartbeat, but alas, I am so NOT, so I won't be attending, needless to say. I would love it if any of the ISJ readers could go & bring us back a blow by blow of the event & of course pictures &/or video. Come on, someone take it on, PLEASE??? If I lived in NYC, I would definitely go, $35 for a ticket is very affordable. It's all the rest that goes along with it that I can't do. **runs off to whine & feel sorry for myself**

Ahhh, Jake. Birth of a Nation. What a stunning piece of work in the long and lustrous history of cinema. After all, who doesn't adore a film dedicated almost entirely to glorifying the KKK and nearly single handily revitalizing the KKK to discriminate against anything or anyone who was not a white, nativist protestant. :)

Even more ironical since Jake has Jewish ancestry.

Yay for college US history courses!

I saw the clip and almost thought it was recent, meaning he had shaved off Dill v. 2 but I was sadly mistaken.

Im pretty sure everything about the video is genious. I wrote some things down to write about here

1. This is my favourite haircut
2. Good to see he still un-does that button when he sits down.

Then i got so engrosed and there was so much to write i stopped.

Crabs, or no hair? Im hoping if any its the second one!

V, I would so love to be the ISJ Representative on 10/2 but alas my income is ridiculously tight so I will be unable to attend as well. Course if Jake would marry me, he could fly me to and fro as needed. Not that I'd marry him for the money. No really, that would be just a perk.

Enjoy your time off, PG!!

so dont hate me b/c i wasn't the only one there but i got to see love and other drugs last week and it is SO GOOD, i signed a legal paper saying i couldnt talk about it so sorry no details =( but i will say i loved it and Jake fans will be happy with all the hotness onscreen! there is another screening in los angeles this week, but im not sure if tickets are all gone

Vanessa September 27, 2010 at 8:06 PM

Thanks for that info about LAOD! I am really trying to get prescreening tickets here in Houston for it. I usually get those all the time for other movies so I am hoping I will get lucky to get those if they show it here too.

You should totally join us on the new ISJ forum. & post what you said here on the LAOD thread. >;-)
