What Movie is Jake Gyllenhaal Really Promoting?

Notice anything unusual about this shot from some random interview with Jake?

No?  Nothing unusual at all?  Nothing unusual ABOUT THE TIE?!

Jake Potter

It's true, Jake Gyllenhaal, who has always wanted to be Harry Potter, is spending all of his time now wearing a Gryffindor tie (personally, I see him more as a Hufflepuff), because that is how excited he is about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1.  It hits theaters in just over a week!  In fact, the only person in the world who is probably more excited about this than Jake is me.

Coincidentally, I just got sorted into Gryffindor myself after taking this extremely long and labor-intensive sorting quiz, which people (like me) who have no life might want to do right now, for the hell of it.

If you are not a Harry Potter fan, then I am sorry.  Both for this post and the empty void you have in your life.

(Anyone else excited about HP7????)

=o Maybe you're the only person who could actually relate Jake Gyllenhaal with Harry Potter. The Gryffindor tie?? I don't know how you did this. Totally amused here.

Haha yeah he'd defo be in Hufflepuff!

Woah that quiz is daunting!! I already know what the result would be (I'm always Griffindor) yet still I am subjecting myself to the 122 questions! :-s

Monica November 11, 2010 at 10:08 AM

Thank you! I hate Harry Potter!

Emily,  November 11, 2010 at 10:48 AM

NOOOOOOOO!!! I got Hufflepuff!! Although only 10% ahead of Griffindor, and them only 7% ahead of Ravenclaw.

Becky Heineke November 11, 2010 at 11:22 AM

I see Hogwarts colors in EVERYTHING! ;D (If it wasn't already apparent, I'm a huge dork.)

Emily, HA!! I was 89 Gryffindor, 86 Ravenclaw (those numbers were actually reversed a year ago when I took this), 71 Hufflepuff, and 60 Slytherin. I was surprised I ranked so low in Slytherin, though, because anytime I do a "Which HP character are you?" quiz, I ALWAYS come out as Draco. Every. Time.

Monica, I CAN'T BELIEVE SUCH A THING. I feel like I should warn you now, then, that there will probably be other HP posts in the future... ;)

OH OH i am SOOOO doing that quiz right now, but im nervous... what if it doesnt put me where i want to be??!! Ill let you know!!

Sam November 11, 2010 at 3:47 PM

80 Hufflepuff
79 Griffindor
72 Ravenclaw
57 Slytherin

I guess the sorting hat would have a hard time with me!!!

Im relatively happy with that... im not incredibly brave but i like to think that otherwise i fit into griffindor nicely.

I AM SOOOOO SUPER DUPER EXCITED FOR HARRY POTTER 7

7 MORE SLEEPS!!!

Okay. My best friends are in love with Harry Potter.
My sister asked me to take my nephew to see the new Harry Potter movie. I love my nephew!

Jake was at the Harry Potter premier yesterday... Pics over at IHJ.

Amusingly he must have read your post and been inspired, he turned up at the premier in London last night of the latest instalment of HP!

Becky Heineke November 12, 2010 at 8:44 AM

HAHAHA!! I am laughing so hard right now! You probably think all I do is make fun of him, but I understand Jake on a very deep and spiritual level... ;D

Anonymous,  November 12, 2010 at 12:12 PM

Ironically Jake saw HP last night in London.

Becky Heineke November 12, 2010 at 2:13 PM

^^^ I don't know why everyone is assuming this is a coincidence! I know Jake like the back of my hand...

Megan November 12, 2010 at 3:52 PM

Uggh! I still need to find a babysitter for 11/19! All of my babysitters are in Memphis : (

I scored 88% Hufflepuff. Not surprising, I suppose.

Good luck tonight! Are you going to wear your gay cowboy t-shirt?

Becky Heineke November 12, 2010 at 4:46 PM

I didn't even think of that!!! I wanted to wear a Breakaway shirt, but apparently I only have one and it's dirty. So right now I'm wearing an Overton Park 5 Mile Classic shirt. But damn. Maybe I should switch...

Decisions!!!!

Re the quiz, I kinda thought maybe you'd be a Ravenclaw...but I can see Hufflepuff. :) I can't believe it's NEXT WEEK (!).

Whew, this has been one bitch of a week at work, I FINALLY have a chance to comment on this great post, PG. I love this! How fun that Gylls is channeling HP so well. I had a chance just now to do the "sorting hat" test myself & got Gryffindor - 88, Ravenclaw - 69, Hufflepuff - 81, Slytherin - 35. Can't believe I got any points for Slytherin. Hmmm.

But anyway, it appears ol' Jake (AKA Harry Potter wannabe), went to a Q&A after a prescreening of LAOD in London last night & may have skipped out on Harry Potter's premiere after all. Source: Love and Other Drugs {Film Preview}

On another note, I am really surprised that there are ANY HP haters out there in the world! I have always assumed that everyone loves HP. I can not wait for the new movie to open next Friday. Not really looking forward to being a sardine in the theater, but I am dying to see it, so I'll just have to deal, I guess. >;-)

PG-

I got 99% GRYFFINDOR! (yes!)
93% Hufflepuff
86% Ravenclaw
36% Slytherin

Yayyyyy! Thanks for sharing! I think I took this once a long time ago, but it was fun to do it again :)

Becky Heineke November 13, 2010 at 4:20 PM

YAY for the Gryffindor love!!! :D Any midnight movie-goers out there? I've actually never been to a midnight screening, but my intense lack of a job right now means that I will get to have that experience this time... :) I have some Slytherin apparel but I feel like maybe I should scope out my Gryffindor options now that I've officially been sorted.

Vanessa November 13, 2010 at 4:40 PM

I've been to a couple of midnight movies before, but not gonna go for that time for HP, I decided to wait til the 1st showing on Saturday. Damn, I have been trying to get free tickets to a prescreening here in Houston for Monday or Tuesday, but keep missing them.

Still holding out hope for a free prescreening of LAOD though. ^_^

PG- midnight screenings are AMAZING! I already have my Deathly Hallows tickets... yay! :)

And you can't wear Slytherin colors to this one! That's like saying you support Voldemort!

Becky Heineke November 14, 2010 at 11:17 AM

HA! Rachel, you are so right! I wore my Slytherin shirt to HBP in support of poor Draco (whom I love, even if that's weird) and his predicament in that portion of the story, but when I walked out, I just felt sad and like I shouldn't be wearing anything green. :-/ I think a trip to Hot Topic is in my immediate future! :)

Vanessa, good luck on both counts! Prescreening for either would be *amazing*. :D

Becky Heineke November 14, 2010 at 11:59 AM

HAHA, I just saw that my Harry Potter Gyllenhaal picture is on ONTD to illustrate the story about Jake going to the HP premiere. Now if only I could get people to link back to where these things come from... :)

gyllenhaalisgr8 November 14, 2010 at 3:13 PM

This is neither here nor there, but HP? Don't get it, never will. Had a hard time with Lord of the Rings. As much as I love fantasy (and you know that I do) HP will never happen in my world. But you guys talk amongst yourselves. I'll keep busy, LOL!
